Phew….!!!!
This hat has consumed my life for the last week…I am so glad I rose to the challenge, and I really didn’t think I’d be able to do it!
The true colour of the wool is the full head shot…not the crown.
I shall now be shouting loudly from the sidelines, to all you still clicking away….

Well, I’ve nearly knitted myself to death today but was it worth it?
You bet!
The body is finished and now I’m going to start the first sleeve. I should sew in the ends on the body but I’m telling myself I’ll need good light for that! I used the three-needle bind off for the shoulders and I have to say I like it. There are more pics on my blog.

Unfortunatley I’ve spent a bit too much time partying in the village, so my chances of medal glory have been seriously compromised.
The progress so far (excuse the dodgy photo).
I had to rip back the fronts as I didn’t like the neckline but I’m happy with it now. I’ve started the sleeves and am hoping if I knit like a mad woman all day I might get a good part of them done. After that I’m going to pick up the cast on edge and knit the other way to complete the bottom. I haven’t planned that bit yet though, so I don’t know how it’s going to work. What was I thinking when I signed up for this?
